Both PRK because the Lasik eye surgery is used to treat myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, and both processes use a laser to reshape the tissue of the cornea and correct vision. However, the proceedings are made of a different and possess different advantages and disadvantages.
During Lasik eye surgery, the surgeon uses a scalpel called a microkeratome to create a corneal flap. This flap folds backward, leaving the cornea exposed in the intervention. Next you call the flap in place. However, during the PRK eye surgery, the surgeon removes the outer layer of the cornea, the epithelium, to access the inner layers. Both the Lasik procedure since the PRK have similar results in vision correction, but usually full recovery after PRK is slower. Nevertheless, the main advantage of this procedure is that patients who are not eligible for Lasik because of some problems or scarring in the cornea can often be effectively treated with surgery PRK.
